Report for November 2008

Note of praise:  The lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever

Activities:

This month classes began to be wrapped up.  Some of my mission students have been making mock prayer cards, writing hypothetical newsletters, practicing mock home meetings, and for their final they will hold a thirty minute mock missionary service.  As you can see it is a very practical class for the administrative side of being a missionary.

In another missions class we have been doing continent overviews and ended with Europe and the United states.  The spiritual decline here was sad to study about and the newest statistics are very depressing.  Prayer is needed for every place but is certainly needed here at home as well.

The missionary fellowship students have been having fundraisers and they are going pretty well.
We had two missionaries come this month.  The mission emphasis week with New Tribes was very interesting.  He brought artifacts from tribal people in South America and his descriptions of their lives took us back to the stone age.  Another couple from WGM came as well and spoke briefly to the Wesley Mission Fellowship.

The evangelism teams continued to go out this month and more tracts were distributed.

Emily Smith was accepted by OMS and is now praying about the timing of her deputation and/or continuing seminary.

The commitment and interest of the students is always a joy.  One mission student is praying about going for a year with OMS on the Extreme Walk program.

One mission couple who graduated last year, Karl and Nina Barnes, had twins this month.  The twins are fine but Nina is having serious health problems and needs prayer.  I have visited them several times.

We had a miracle of physical healing with one student this month and through his experience he was also able to pray with his doctor.  Another student was hurt seriously during a game and I have tried to visit him and take food several times this month.

My health is ok but I am having some difficulties.  My immune system is still low and I can’t seem to throw off any little thing.  My blood pressure is also high and I need to continue to be on steroids for energy and to keep graft verses host disease at bay.  I also need prayer for an unspoken request that is greatly burdening my heart.  This is a time when the Lord is having to carry me.

Thank you for your prayers.  Thank you for all you are doing for the Lord and missions

Respectfully submitted,

Carolyn Knight
